I’ve been selected as a beta tester, what exactly might I be able to test?
You will be able to try out the new player character. That contains a new player model and its body shapes, new skin color, new faces, eyebrow customization, remade hairstyles, and make-up! However, animations and clothes are not final.
What does Closed Beta mean?
Beta testing is done with a limited number of users to ensure the product is ready to go before launching to a broader audience. Beta testing is done in steps while collecting feedback from the testers!
When will the new Player Character be available for everyone?
The beta test is our first step towards a full rollout of the updated player character. Full availability depends on how the beta test performs, we want to ensure we have the best experience before we roll the new character out to all players. Right now, we don’t have a clear timeline, but stay tuned for updates!
Will testers be able to share videos, pictures, and other content publicly?
Yes! We encourage testers to share images, videos, and content related to their experience. Please use the hashtag #NewPlayerNewMe when sharing content!
How many testers will there be?
We hope that 150 players will be able to take part in the beta test, alongside our ambassadors.
When is the beta test open?
Beta testing takes place between 13.00 CET on September 21st and October 3rd.
Will all tester feedback be implemented into the new player character?
We'll take all feedback into consideration, but we may not be able to implement everything. We also will be working with the character in stages, so not all changes will be implemented upon full release.
Will beta testers be able to keep their new characters in the live game at the end of the test?
No, this will be a beta experience only and will not affect regular accounts, nor carry over when the beta has finished.
Things we’re still working on
It’s important to remember the character is still a work in progress and although it is functional, a number of bugs are still present.
The clothes, saddles, and hair are suffering from different levels of clipping. Longer hairstyles collide with the back and shoulders, many clothes aren’t yet fit with the character bodies, and the majority of the saddles are too small at the minute. We’re aware and working on it!
The animations aren’t yet synchronized with all the breeds, and need to be adjusted to each body shape (fixing for example arms that can go through the body). You might notice the character is not holding the reins when riding or leading the horse, and the “props” (objects held by the characters) are attached to the wrist instead of the hand.
